The first SLOW GODS collection- LABYRINTH- is a captivating journey though uncharted sonic territory. Sounds from the natural world interwoven with intriguing melodies and rhythms create an audio tapestry of surprising depth and beauty. Scott Railback is my co-pilot on this flight, bringing his didjeridu mastery (on both traditional and sub-sonic instruments) into the mix. And Elaine Kreston brings the warm vibrations of her cello to a few of our tracks. The latest ELEMENT 6 release-BLACKBIRD COVE- is a sonic gumbo emerging from the foggy mist . It's haunting, swampy sound is an original blend of electronica with a touch of cajun-style blues. Like a film noir soundtrack, the melodies and moods have a dark appeal. A delicate mandolin on a rainy night, a train in the distance, a preacher drifting in and out over the airwaves- and much more to be found on a trip to Blackbird Cove.
